Happy 81st birthday to the Coal Miner’s Daughter Loretta Lynn.In a career that has spanned 50 years Loretta has has had ten Number 1 albums and sixteen Number 1 singles on the country charts.
A number of her hits became a center of controversy upon release and were subsequently banned from some radio stations. These songs include  “Rated “X” (a song the double standards divorced women face), “The Pill” (about a woman new liberation due to birth control) and “Wings Upon Your Horns” (about the loss of virginity.)Loretta is touring this spring and summer playing select dates throughout the US.
